How would you search for an exact word or phrase?

I would simply type out exactly what I want to search about. For example, if I want to know how many medals Michael Phelps has won in all his Olympic games appearances, I would type “Michael Phelps medals at the Olympics” and press enter.

How would you search for something on a specific site?

Type what I want to search about followed by the name of the site. For example, if i want to find a video on Youtube through Google, I’ll type “Michael Phelps Olympics Youtube” and press enter.

How would you correctly search for a definition?

Type the word followed by “definition” in front of the word.
Example — arrogant definition

How would you search for a specific product available within a specific price range?

Mention the price range and the product I’m looking for.
Example — Headphones within price range $75 — $150

How would you search for a specific filetype?

Type the query followed by the filetype or extension
Example — Canada flag png

How would you include or ignore words in your search?

Use a “+” sign in front to include a word in your search and “-” sign to ignore a word

Example — Cats for sale +persian.

How would you find sites/pages similar to an existing one?

To find sites similar to Twitter for example, I would type “sites like Twitter”

How would you confirm the exact form of a quote even if you were missing some of the words?

Enter the words I do know and use asterisk as a placeholder for the words I don’t know

Example — “A falling star fell from your * and landed in my eyes — I screamed *, as it tore through them, and now it’s left me blind.”

How would you search for pages containing two connected words?

I would enter the two words connected by the the “+” sign

Example — music+arts

How would you search for social media content containing a specific tag?

Include “#” followed by the query

Example — #donaldtrump
